“We enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Ivy House yesterday. As soon as we walked in the door we were warmly welcomed and were able to choose where we sat. The decor is quirky and cosy. This is a family run business and ideal for any occasion. The food was delicious and impeccably presented. We had the crab and calamari for starters and then the steak. My husband had the bread & butter pudding and said it was to die for. The staff were so friendly and attentive. we will definitely be going again.”

“What an incredible find. We were attracted by the very positive reviews and we were certainly not disappointed. This restaurant is head and shoulders above so many that think they are doing the same thing. Outstanding cuisine, distinctive and attractive setting, warm welcome and gold star customer service. All in all what's not to like. We sampled the crab tartlet, chicken liver pate, venison in brandy sauce, creme caramel and sticky toffee pudding. Every bite excellent and the melt in the mouth nature of the venison really stood out for us. We would be regulars if this restaurant were near our home. We have some experience of fine dining including of Michelin star level and we would definitely rate what is on offer here in that bracket. Memorable and much appreciated. Pricing is top of mid range but quality is way above that. Very warm thanks to the whole family team. Nobody does it better!”

“Fabulous family run place. Lovely ambience, with a very friendly welcome. First class service, gorgeous freshly prepared food. Local venison, fillet steak, lemon sole, just to mention a few, all served with fresh vegetables and luxurious sauces to complement the flavours. Top marks for the chef. “We visited tonight after having driven by on countless holidays. My wife always said, it looks so good we have to visit. The greeting we received as a family was lovely. The venue is insane and I’m sure we will never visit anywhere like it again at 750 years old! We had starters and mains and the kids ate chicken and chips which was perfect. Our food was incredibly cooked and the flavours were amazing. You’re made to feel so welcome by the people there and when we visit next year for our holiday we will certainly be back.”

We loved the decor, the music; Ella and more, we were impressed by the atmosphere, nothing short of delightful. The food was simply presented, beautifully cooked with quality ingredients and heaven to the taste buds. Starters included crab tart, superb. Served with a small garnish and perfect. Pate, and salmon tempura. All very much enjoyed. Main courses were venison, lemon sole and steak. Wonderful. The deserts finished a very grateful four diners with a warming glow of gratitude to put a date in the diary to return. Thank you. We appreciate your attention to us and our evening celebration.”
